General information: Colourless translucent acicular crystals, or a white microcrystalline powder; odour faint and aromatic, recalling that of wintergreen. Almost insoluble in water; soluble at 20°C, in 9 parts of alcohol, in 10 parts of liquid paraffin, in 4 parts of almond oil, in ether, in chloroform and in fixed and volatile oils; very slightly soluble in glycerine.
